EXCERPTS FROM NEW REVIEWS of Along Chicago from www.reviewyou.com:

Scott Homewood says:
This album is a low-key gem…to a knowledgeable coterie of rock fans it will resemble classic albums like Ass from Badfinger, Fresh Raspberries from the Raspberries, or even Sister Lovers by Big Star. The songs are not bubble-gummy like today’s disposable pop trash. What the songs on here are is solid and well-written, which is probably damning in today’s musical climate but will ultimately mean this album will stand the test of time. Girard is definitely an artist to keep an eye on. If he continues to turn out work like this at such a high level, he’s bound to be noticed by the world at large before too long. He’s too good not to be. This album is one of the best so far this decade, no question.

Rhonda Readence says:
This album is filled with songwriting that is artful, creative and intelligent. The composition of each piece is well-thought out and professionally executed. The sound is polished and clean. The instrumentation is flawless and the vocals are quite simply wonderful. Preston Girard’s album Along Chicago will call to people who enjoy the finer things in life, because this album is one of them.

Alexa Spieler says:
Along Chicago is just the beginning of Girard’s career, as he has many, many more years ahead of him to make his mark in the music industry, a mark that he is doubtless destined to make.

Jason Randall Smith says:
The attentive ear of producer Jon Williams coupled with Girard’s meticulous songwriting make for a soul-stirring combination. Along Chicago is a solid album filled with emotional highs and unified musicianship. The sum of its parts never equal aural confusion, even though Preston is clearly influenced by several different genres of music. On the contrary, this sonic mélange suits Preston well and is conducive to creating focused work while touching upon different styles. With the promise of a new album on the way, we can look for him to conjure up some more studio magic.

Cody Plucker says:
On Along Chicago, Preston Girard shows that he has the wherewithal to construct an album of meaningful music that can actually reach out to an audience, and not just play out like a sentimental piece written for himself and himself alone.

Absolute Powerpop Review

Preston Girard-Along Chicago. Despite the album title Girard is from Kansas City, and he works in the idiom of singer-songwriters like AM, Gus Black and David Gray. From the defiant start-stop of “Pretty” to the jangle of the title track to the balladry of “Under”, Girard shows a real command of his craft. But the real standout here is “Little People”, near-power pop with a chorus that will stay in your head.  -Absolute Powerpop
