Make $ Selling Preston’s Music
Preston’s new album is available for $10 at www.cdbaby.com/cd/prestongirard3!
I play out every three months or so, which means I don’t get my music out there like all those bands and artists who tour all over the place all the time. So to get my music out there I’ll need your help. If you’re a fan of my music and you think it’s worth getting out there to others and you want to make a little money in the meantime, here’s my plan. It’s simple: if you can sell my CDs and digital downloads, you can make a chunk of money from each sale.
Here’s how it works: If you can sell my CDs and/or full-album digital downloads, sold at www.cdbaby.com, I’ll return $3 of each sale to you. You have to sell 100 items (CDs or full-album digital downloads) before I can pay you, though, because I’d be writing a bunch of small checks otherwise and I just don’t have the time. Look at it this way, though: when you sell 100 items you get a nice check for $300. Not a bad take. And you got my music out there, so I’m a fan of yours at that point.
Not only can you make money getting people to buy my music, you can also make money referring other sellers to the program. You get $100 of my earnings from each of your seller’s first 100 sales as a referral fee. In other words, if you refer a new seller and that new seller sells 100 CDs or full-album downloads, you get a $100 referral fee from those first 100 sales. That $100 is from my earnings and not from your seller’s earnings, so your seller will get the full $3 for each sale. If you refer 10 sellers who sell 100 items each, you make $1000. Again, not a bad take.
There are some terms and conditions you have to agree to before selling and some rules you need to review, but it’s a simple program. Read the seller’s information below and click “Sign Up” to register. After registration, you can start selling.
Make sure your buyers and sellers identify you before they buy or sell CDs and downloads! Otherwise I won’t know who to pay! They should go through my web site to purchase or sell items so that they can do this. They just need to click on either the BUY link at the top of this page and complete the form or, if they are sellers referred by you, read the seller’s information below and click “Sign Up” to register. There’s a ‘Who’s Your Seller?’ form they can complete when they register so that they can clearly identify you.

CDbaby’s return policy for physical CDs is 14 days so I’ll have to wait at least 14 calendar days before I credit you with a physical CD sale just in case any of the CDs get returned. Basically, this just means I’ll cut a check to you for all 100 sales once 14 days have passed from the last CD sale of the 100 sales. It’s not a terribly long time to wait. Buyers can’t return full-album downloads, of course. Unfortunately single-song downloads aren’t currently available under this plan.
CDs and full-album downloads are $10 each.
